| Symptom |
Problem |
Resolution |
| Can't login (Participant or Host) |
Invalid entry codes |
If you are the host, contact ConferenceSuite Customer Support. If you are a guest/invitee, you should contact the host of the web conference to get a valid Participant entry code. |
|
Pop-up blocking software |
Pop-up blocking software interferes with WebInterpoint. Please turn off your Pop-up blocking software temporarily. |
| Can't login (Participant) |
Host has not yet "Started" the conference |
The host of your web conference must be not only logged in, but must also have clicked the "Start" button. |
Application Sharing
not working (Host) |
Host doesn't have current ActiveX Plugin |
To conduct Application Sharing, all Hosts must have the current WebInterpoint ActiveX Plugin. Please click here to check your system compatibility or follow the "System Compatibility Test" link on the login page. |
Application Sharing
not working (Participants) |
JVM too old and don't have current ActiveX Plugin |
Participants need either JVM 1.5.0 update 4 or the current WebInterpoint ActiveX Plugin. Please click here to check your system compatibility or follow the "System Compatibility Test" link on the login page. |
Application Sharing
not working (Host and Participants) |
Incompatible OS and/or Web browser |
See system requirements below for a list of supported Operating Systems (OSs) and browsers. WebInterpoint supports all the top browsers. If you have an unsupported browser, please download a free copy of Internet Explorer (recommended). To Host Application Sharing you must have the MS Windows OS; Macintosh is only supported for participants. |
| ActiveX Plugin installation failure |
Can't install ActiveX Plugin |
If you receive a message that the Plugin failed to install, you most likely have a Pop-up Blocker interfering. Look for a yellow message bar referencing the ActiveX control with a "Click here to install..." link. Also, you must have Admin rights to your PC to install the Plugin. |
Application Sharing
too slow |
Bandwidth |
Depending upon what is being shared, latency of 1 to 5 seconds is normal, even with all attendees on broadband connections. We do not recommend application sharing on dial-up connections. |
|
Screen Resolution of Host is too high |
The higher the screen resolution of the Host/Presenter, the more latency there will be (because more data/pixels have to be transferred to the participants). Try setting your screen resolution lower or selecting a higher performance setting within WebInterpoint when inititating Application Sharing. |
|
Host keeps jumping from window to window |
Try to minimize the number of times the Host performs actions that require the window to be "re-painted". The more things that change on the screen, the more latency there will be (because more data/pixels have to be transferred to the participants). |
